By both measures of Wins Above Replacement, Mike Trout is the best player through his age-24 season ever. Better than Ruth, Cobb, Mantle, Williams. All of them.

Despite that, however, he has made it a bit of an annual tradition to pinpoint a specific area of his game that he thinks needs improvement before each season and hone in on it during the coming season. This year, for instance, he has his sights set on stealing 40 bases for the first time since his rookie year in 2012.
